Visas for new construction for residential use reached 64,038 units in 2016, an increase of 29% compared to 2015 (49,695 units). In this way, the permits keep the path up and chain three consecutive years in positive, according to data from the Ministry of Public Works.
Of the total number of visas in 2016, 46,889 were in block flats (up 34% year-on-year) and 17,134 single-family homes, with an annual increase of 17%. In addition, 15 permits were requested for other types of buildings not intended for family dwellings, compared to 19 for 2015.
