6.6% of British residents in Spain were affected by soil clauses

There are 20,000 British residents in Spain affected by the floor clauses with amounts of 7,000 euros on average.

With this result, 6.6% of the 300,000 Brits living in Spain have been affected by soil clauses. Meanwhile, the remaining 83.4% obtained financing without resorting to the service of Spanish banking entities or did not require financing.

The Valencian Community is home to 15% of the British affected.

By autonomous communities, Andalusia registers 25% of the total affected, followed by Catalonia with 20%, the Community of Madrid (16%) and Valencia (15%). In this context, Brexit increases the feeling of insecurity of the British by the possible loss of patrimonial value. In fact, the British pound has devalued around 17% against the dollar and 11% against the euro since the eve of the referendum.
